“Dear Mama J,

I swear, if I see one more ‘boy math’ or ‘girl dinner’ post, I might lose it. My entire feed is people diagnosing their exes with narcissism, claiming they have attachment issues after two dates, or acting like brunch is a personality trait. Is dating actually this toxic now, or have we just collectively lost the plot? How do I navigate modern dating without needing a therapy session and a viral think piece afterward?” — Ghosted, Gaslit & Over It

Dear Ghosted, Gaslit and Over It

Omgeeee. Dating issues. It takes so much space in our hearts and brain. Online dating isn’t any different from meeting a guy/girl in a bar. Flirting, not being your true self and drinking. I made so many bad decisions. Can you believe that I was a recovering alcoholic and still dated alcoholics! It’s important to be your true self. I liked dating guys who played golf, played tennis, and had same interests. Those were fun dates. Maybe the word fun has gone out of dating. Be yourself, go to activities that you are interested in. There will be like minded people that will be easy to get to know. At the end of the day it’s all about making good decisions, being kind, and listening to your gut and red flags.

Trust them! Hugs.

Mama J
