Dear Mama J,
I have had Alopecia Universalis since I was 2 years old. That’s a disease where you have no hair growth. I have worn wigs since I was 5. I am finding wigs very annoying now. Itchy and hot. I see women who choose to go without wigs and I think they are so brave. I am considering going bald but I think I’ll wear scarves. I don’t know. I’m 72 and I don’t want to look weird.
Dear To be or not to be bald,
You don’t need follicles to be fabulous!! Embrace your inner goddess and the power of accessorizing like a boss! You have a fabulous face and a fierce spirit that can pull off anything from scarves, to glasses and chunky statement jewelry! I too was hesitant to be a bald headed beauty when my meds had my hair looking like Angelica’s Cynthia doll from Rugrats but once I took the leap out of my comfort zone and just cut it off it was the most freeing and empowering thing I had ever done. YOU GOT THIS!! Give yourself permission to play around and have fun with your look and be confident in your scalp presentation! We can go out and be twinsies and see if people can tell us apart lol!
