“Dear Mama J, I’m in my mid-20s, and it feels like everyone I know is either getting engaged, having babies, or soft-launching their new relationship on Instagram. Meanwhile, I’m just trying to keep my houseplants alive and figure out if my situationship even likes me. Am I falling behind in life, or is this just peak social media-induced anxiety? How do I stop comparing my life to everyone else’s highlight reel?” — Chronically Online & Confused

Dear Chronically online I bet your plants are beautiful. You are only in your twenties. I’m happy you are not involved with someone seriously. I was married, divorced, married and had 2 kids by the time I was 30. Enjoy your 20’s. It’s a maturing decade, discovering who you are and getting started on your career. Relationships will happen. Social media causes me to feel jealous, mad, sad so many times and I’m in my 70’s. Be happy for your friends and not jealous. Life is about being kind and being yourself. Take social media breaks. You will be great! Mama J.
