Exciting news for hockey fans as professional hockey makes a triumphant return to Topeka. The Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) has announced a series of neutral-site games at the Stormont Vail Events Center, with plans for a permanent FPHL team in 2025.

Mark your calendars for January 9, 2025, when a press conference will be held to unveil branding for the games, introduce the teams, and share thrilling updates about the future of hockey in the region. The event begins at 2:00 PM at the Main Entrance Grand Lobby of the Stormont Vail Events Center.

What to Expect

The FPHL is bringing top-tier competition to Topeka, with four neutral-site games scheduled for early 2025:

  • January 24 & 25: The Topeka Scarecrows vs. Baton Rouge Zydeco
  • January 31 & February 1: The Topeka Scarecrows vs. the Topeka Road Runners

Two teams, the Danville Dashers and Baton Rouge Zydeco, will take the ice as the Topeka Scarecrows, while the Port Huron Prowlers will compete as the Topeka Road Runners. This innovative rebranding reflects Topeka’s commitment to reviving its hockey culture.
