“Small business ownership is not for the weak!” she said. “We’re incredibly lucky that my dad has a background in business development and helped us navigate everything from insurance to financial planning.”

“Every time someone tells me how much they enjoy the space or how delicious the coffee is, it makes all the hard work worth it,” she said.
Hearing laughter and giggles from the play area is especially rewarding. “We’re not a franchise; everything inside this space came from my heart,” she explained. From selecting snacks to designing the playhouses, every detail reflects her passion and dedication.
Big Dreams for the Future
Kayla’s vision for To The Stars Play Cafe doesn’t stop here. In the coming years, she plans to add a playschool program and a co-working space. She also dreams of creating an internship program for individuals with disabilities, offering them valuable employment skills and a living wage.
“The world is a scary place for small businesses, but I hope we build a strong clientele so we can stay open for years to come,” she said.
